Uh-oh…

Suanie has nice hair for one night only

Something big…

Sister's wedding - Datin Suanie

… this way comes…

Sister's wedding - Suanie with Janice

Bwahahhahahahahah….. yeah I was shocked myself, never knew that my hair could reach such dizzying heights…

It was the same place where Erna had her hair styled…. By the way Erna will be performing in the musical Refugee: Images, she’s been practising a lot (I can hear her from upstairs) and so go catch it if you can!

the all-in-one post

Uh, hello :D

Still not in the mood for ‘real’ blogging, though there are a couple things I would really like to rant about, but after a couple days I don’t feel the rage anymore. So here are some shiok sendiri updates with photos.

Midvalley Chili’s

As Reta mentioned, we met briefly on Monday. BTW woman, your hotness level is +101.

Paul loves his beer

And it was the first time I’d seen Peter wearing so formal.

Peter Tan in formal wear

The dude is so leng jai, it’s almost ridiculous :P

Then we I went to jump on Peter’s bed in his hotel room at the Boulevard. But all the evidence is with him.

Haircut

Yesterday I went for a haircut at Kuchai Lama. If I’m willing to go all the way from PJ to Kuchai Lama for a haircut, you can bet that the fella, Keith is good :P

Paul kindly drove me there and accompanied me because he is a nice guy and that’s what nice guys do — be really really nice and wait for friends to get a haircut for 2.5 hours.

Paul waited 2.5 hours for me to get my hair cut

For comparison’s sake, this was what I looked like.

Suanie before haircut

I sent a SMS to my mom telling her that I was at the hairdresser and was thinking of having my hair cut short. She replied,

“OH, no, nononono, u look nice with long hair. don cut short. that’s yr only beauty left, beside yr mouth, ur nose :)”

Why is my mom ’so cute’ leh? -_-”

The morning after…

The morning after the haircut

Oh yah, I took a photo of myself and sent it via MMS to me mom and got this reply,

“I disown u!”

So yes, I need a new family. Any takers?

Food and movies

Then Paul and I went to 1U to buy movie tickets. We wanted to watch Narnia but there was only the midnight shows, KY wanted to watch some n00b penguin movie, so in the end we settled for Zathura.

And because Paul and I had some time to kill before the 9.50 pm movie, we bought tickets to watch the n00b penguin movie. Then we went to Italiannies for dinner. They have a food sharing concept; the portions are large and it’s not really expensive when you order for a lot of people.

Italiannies Cream of Mushroom

Italiannies Chicken Fettuccine

The mushroom soup was damn good, the BEST mushroom soup I’ve had in PJ/KL. The chicken fettuccine was nice, but Paul bit into some yucky cheese thing and refused to finish his dinner.

While waiting to go into the cinema, I saw Douglas Lim and Rashid Sidek Salleh hanging around at a The Star booth outside the cinema. It was some Star-Narnia thing going on, and I happily asked to have a photo taken with them, and I dedicate this photo to Jolene, the biggest Douglas Lim fan EVARRR!!!1111oneoneone.

Rashid Salleh, Suanie and Douglas Lim

And then the penguin show.

Suanie is a penguin

Okay okay it was La Marche de l’empereur aka The Emperor’s Journey aka March of the Penguins, it’s in the international screens thing and it’s in French with English and Chinese subtitles.

Paul Tan in an empty cinema

And it was all about penguins. ALL of it. Like, the world overrun with fucking penguins and penguins fucking. Check out this photo below, multiply it to stretch into 1+ hour, and you have the whole movie.

OMGWTFBBQPENGUINS

It was quite cute and informative, being a documentary and all, but THERE WERE SO MANY PENGUINS!!! What did I expect, right? A movie about penguins…

BUT IT WAS ALL PENGUINS PENGUINS PENGUINS!!!

AND THEY SPEAK IN FRENCH!!!!

Blah.

After the penguin movie, the rest of the n00bs came and we watched Zathura, a Jumanji-recycled.

Yawn.

Then off to William’s for yum char.

I didn’t know you could get sausages in bolognese sauce with mashed potatoes and garlic bread at a mamak.

-The end-

hair today, gone tomorrow

My friend Peter Tan has finally decided to do the inevitable, this time for charity in aid of the Penang Hospice-At-Home Programme (under the National Cancer Society of Malaysia).

Peter Tan - Hair for Hospice charity

PETER’S GONNA GET A HAIR CUT!!!

It’s about time anyway, goodness knows how much grief we’ve given him about it. Admittedly it adds to his rock star-like allure, but hair that long’s got to be a bitch. And I’m a female, I can’t have guys having hair longer than mine! I mean, WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!?

Inane jealousy aside, I’m all for Peter doing a good deed for society. Heaven knows we need more pro-crazy-stunts-for-charity people like him to make the rest of us feel better about ourselves that at least, SOMEONE is doing SOMETHING.

Peter says:

I am pledging to shave my head to raise RM5,000.00 for the Penang Hospice-At-Home-Programme. This is removing forty two months worth of uncut hair from my scalp. I have invariably grown attached to them after so many years. It has become part of me, a distinct identity that I have come to be associated with. However, this is all for a cause that I strongly believe in. It is worth the sacrifice.

Because…

It costs RM31 for a palliative care nurse from the Hospice to visit a patient at home. The RM5,000.00 will be able to support 161 home visits. This is only a fraction of the RM290,000.00 that was spent in the year 2004 for such visits. Patients are not charged for these visits and neither are they obliged to reciprocate in any other way. This is truly service from the heart, and one of the great examples of human compassion at its best.

Three other bloggers have decided to shave it all alongside Peter for this worthy cause. By the end of October if the donation gets up to RM5,000, buangmasa.net, Bryan and Sharizal will also sport the Yul Brynner look, albeit not as sexy but still distinctive.

So if you would like to help make the world a better place, feel very free to support or donate to this charity drive - make Peter cut his hair!!! More info can be found at Peter’s blog, info on how to donate here.

It’s gonna look so good, you wouldn’t believe it.

For a mere fraction of a moment I was thinking about going bald in support of Peter the blogbuster. It would be something new, something different, and could perhaps generate a lil’ bit more something seeing that I am a chick. Then R said I would look like an Asian Sugar Lee Hooper.

Suanie vs Lee Hoopers
Separated at birth?

Or people might actually donate money for me NOT to shave my head. I don’t know… what do you think?
