About
Hi, I am Suanie. It’s a nickname, and part of my real name.
Female, mid-late twenties, Malaysian Chinese, Starbucks aficionado.
As of today, I am still single, still unmarried, still overweight and still oblivious to the notion that I’d be much happier if I were not single and not overweight.
I hail from Batu Pahat (Johor). I currently live in Petaling Jaya (Selangor).
My grammar is atrocious. My spelling isn’t any better and I make no apologies for them.
I try not to do too much for a living. I can tell you that it doesn’t work.
(But yes, I have a day job).
Sometimes I am a Buddhist, sometimes I am a Pastafarian. Sometimes I am just an emo fuck.
I think that soupy Klang bak kut teh is great. I think that we are not alone in this universe and beyond. I also think that the world revolves around me, so there’s not much you can say that would make me think otherwise.
I owned and majorly used a Nokia N95 for many months. Then I was given a Nokia N82. I absolutely adore both phones, but am primarily using the Nokia N82 now because of its better camera-taking capabilities.
I am a relatively quiet person IRL. I can’t think of a better person than myself for me to spend quality time with.
I think I am funny.
I care in my own caring ways.
I often contradict myself, I am an intellectual-wannabe.
One Hoegaarden White to rule them all. But I won’t say no to other booze, especially if I need not pay for them. Unless it’s Guinness. Then you can have it. I can’t take that stuff.
When I grow up, you’d be the first to know.
If you want to, you can contact me here.

I have been on the Net since 1996. While I am not a technical geek, I can be an Internet culture geek a.k.a whatever the hell you want to call it. I know that no one cares
Timeline:
Year 1999
I created a simple website ‘Suan’s Corner’ and later ‘Suan Online’ (I was young and terribly unimaginative) using Trellix, hosted for free on Tripod. It was a static website, and I semi-frequently updated a section called ‘Life’s Like That’; works somewhat like blogs today. At that time, I was a die-hard Michael Jackson fan (and even smeared my bedroom wall with ‘I LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER!’ using a green marker, which didn’t please my mom at all) and created a web shrine for him. I scoured the net for MJ and the Jackson 5’s history, and the MJ shrine consisted of his history growing up, discography, lyrics and photos. It was very well-received, mind you… 12 - 15 year old girls (mostly from the USA) would e-mail me with messages for MJ or myself, thanking me for the shrine
The shrine is long gone but some of my old time readers fondly remember the phase (i.e. Edder)
I was also heavily involved with my local YBF (Young Buddhist Fellowship) activities, and had a large section on Buddhism, alongside with my youthful rants thought up by a near-20 year old kiddo. In fact if you would give a shit and read back the Buddhism stuff that I wrote, you’d see how I’d matured in my thinking over the years (or not).
Year 2003 - 2004
During this time I’d bought ‘Suanie.com’ for a year or two, can’t really remember. ShaolinTiger decided to make me a proper blog using bBlog as my birthday present. I had a wicked time deleting a lot of my old stuff on the Tripod-hosted site.
In 2004 ‘Suanie.com’ expired. I was unable to repurchase the domain using a different domain reseller in time - damn you cyber squatters! So I had no choice but to purchase ‘Suanie.net’ instead and moved most of my entries in tBlog with I had been using during the wait-out period. All my entries from ‘Suanie.com’ were lost because I conveniently forgot to backup the databases. Life goes on
Year 2005

While bBlog has its good points, it also has many disadvantages for a non-technical geek. I was manually deleting up to 200 - 400 spam comments and trackbacks a DAY, plus the development was a tad slow (though the community was brilliant). So in Oct 2005 I decided to jump ship to Wordpress and deleted a lot of my older entries in the process. Just something I often do when I get into one of my moods.
2005 was also the year when my blog received some publicity in the local media.
Year 2006 - 2007
I tweaked my blog templates a couple of times; below is a shot of what Suanie.net main page looked like with KY’s awesome background drawing.

And the image below was a print screen of what it looked like before I switched themes and made Suanie.net to a 3-column.

I’ll run this blog for as long as I feel like blogging. I blog because I want to and because I can. Stop asking me already.
