win speedzone party tix for 29th dec @ zouk kl !!

(Sorry ar, busy a bit so I am just going to copy a whole lot from the press release.)

To celebrate the World Grand Prix champions…

Partygoers have a very special event to look forward to on 29th December as SpeedZone Tour includes a new addition to their 2007 calendar – a first-ever World Grand Prix Champions Party! In a scorching double celebration of team Ferrari’s and Ducati’s monumental F1 and MotoGP wins, Malaysia’s favourite hotspot, Zouk will set ablaze as SpeedZone showcases a very, special deejay, the 24-year old wunderkind JAMES ZABIELA.

Set to close the year 2007 in style, JAMES ZABIELA will blaze the night at SpeedZone as he plays a 3-hour set of truly nuclear proportions. Joining ZABIELA will be SpeedZone’s favourite DJ, Joey G of Channel [V] fame, who will set the pace for clubbers in his own patented way, showing why he’s the best at what he does as he creates the setting for a truly monstrous main set.

About JAMES ZABIELA:

James Zabiela (press release)

A technical wizard and with a love of all things sci-fi, JAMES ZABIELA is at the forefront of new DJ/production talent smashing the glass ceiling of the global superstars. He’s played to a room full of suited Japanese businessmen when showcasing Pioneer’s latest equipment, in front of 60,000 people in South America and just about every imaginable situation in-between. And this time ZABIELA will be taking time off from his residency at Ibiza’s world famous club, Space and Pacha - New York, to make his very first stop of his Asian tour in Kuala Lumpur!

From the beginnings of winning a bedroom DJ competition to being recently awarded the ‘Best British DJ’ at the DJ Mag DJ Awards and ranked #17 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll, ZABIELA showcases a style, which is at the same time trippy, bleepy and downright groovy, with a few gnarly basslines thrown in for good measure. ZABIELA’s unique style has been recently borrowed by the likes of Jay-Z who famously integrated it into his signature sound.

So you can go pay RM40 to party with this hot young dude on 29th December (Saturday) at Zouk KL, OR you can win TWO tickets to the party from Suanie.net! Isn’t reading this blog wonderful :D ;) :D

Of course there’s a contest to go with it. But this one will be relatively easier, compared to the last Speedzone contest that I ran.

So check this out:

What is the one thing that you promised yourself to do/fulfill at the beginning of this year, but have yet to do anything about it, even until now?

For example, the one thing I promised myself to do at the beginning of this year was to lose weight. 12 months later, I am still a big fat blimp. Yay, I win two tickets to the Speedzone party!!!!!!!!

Basically, whoever’s broken resolution sounds the most miserable, wins. I have 5 pairs of tickets to dish out, so do your worst!

Who says losers cannot be winners :D (once in a while)

Rules rules rules:

1) Contest ends on 26th December 2007 (Wednesday)
2) Contest only those 21 years old and above only!
3) Please enter a valid e-mail address if you wish to participate in the contest so I can e-mail you if you win.
4) You can write down your broken resolution(s) in the comment form below, or e-mail me via my contact page.
5) All entries will be judged by ME! If you win, I’ll e-mail you a.s.a.p. to inform you how you could collect the tickets.

O la la!

ohai, we waz at speedzone tour ‘07 @ zouk kl!

At first I was a tad reluctant to go. I mean, dude, I am 26 years old. The best (or the worst, depends on how you look at it) of my clubbing days are way behind me. Admittedly 26 is not that old for one to hit the clubs; the difference is that I *feel* old. Give me a nice cosy pub with soothing music, good cheap beer and good friends over struggling with almost naked young cikus for standing space anytime. It’s a cardiac arrest and a $200 coffin waiting to happen.

(p/s: I always write the above paragraph whenever I blog about clubbing. It’s a semi-excuse as to why you would see my fat ass out there sometimes)

But then I had the whole haiku contest going on, and the charming PR girl sweetened the deal with a pair of VIP passes… Matt Darey + free-flow alcohol = oh herro! :D

But I am glad I went, if only to see this big sign at one of the counters…

Speedzone Tour 2007 @ Zouk KL - media, lmao!
Do I kembang now or later?

speedzone tour 2007/ win free tickets!

Speedzone 2007 Poster Yeay it’s the time of the year to bring sexy back and party to top tunes by top international DJs!

Just this March 2007, it was the Speedzone party for the F1. Now it’s the Motor GP season, and this time round Speedzone Tour is bringing you hot stuff like Matt Darey, Seb Fontaine, Gareth Emery, Princess Superstar and Joey G!

Being the lazy arse I am to come out with original content, here are excepts from the press release:

Come experience the ultimate party fever on 20 October 2007, at Zouk Kuala Lumpur. Catch the phenomenal DJ line-up, most of whom are making their debut appearances in Kuala Lumpur!

Zouk Mainroom: DJ Joey G of Channel [V] fame will get the party started and set the pace for UK’s favourite DJ Matt Darey, a chameleon of sound whose productions have been a major influence to the industry today. Next up is DJ Seb Fontaine who has made his mark since his residencies at CREAM and BBC Radio1. Last but not least presenting trance wonder boy Gareth Emery (ranked #34 in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll), tipped by Paul van Dyk as the artist to breakthrough in 2007, who will take you to the finish line!

Velvet Underground: Presenting the one and only female DJ for the night, Princess Superstar who is renowned worldwide for her mash-ups between hip-hop, electro and rock. She has performed with N.E.R.D, Bjork, Z-Trip and KRS-1 and her remake of “Exceeder – Mason vs. Princess Superstar” debuted at #3 on the UK pop charts!

The Loft: Bounce to the funky house beats of GaryDJ, an accomplished DJ who has remixed tracks for the likes of Jamiroquai, Destiny’s Child and Maxwell, followed by a kaleidoscope of sounds delivered by DJ Jeremy Boon, resident DJ of Velvet Underground Singapore.
Terrace Bar: Chill out to Zouk resident DJs while taking a break from non-stop partying and try your skills at the party’s unique interactive zones.

FYI, Matt Darey is hot. I had his albums (legit, mind you) but I lost them :( SNIFFS they were presents too :( But he’s HOT and I might just make the trip downtown KL to catch him in action. Bearing in mind that this is a huge thing because I do not go clubbing anymore, and you guys know how I feel about some stuff ;)

Gareth Emery was ranked #34 in last year’s DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, and was tipped by Paul van Dyk as his artist to break though this year. That’s another reason to join the maddening crowd in Zouk KL next Saturday 20th October!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

So will you be there? You might as well just go, because I have some FREE tickets for you to party at Speedzone Tour 2007! :D

Yes I know that the organisers of Speedzone Tour ‘07 are giving out 1000 free tickets to those who register at their website. I also happen to know that the tickets being given out there are almost gone, hence the generous people are giving me 7 pairs of tickets to give away at Suanie.net! Isn’t that awesome? :D

Unlike the Speedzone contest earlier this year, you will find this one a breeze to enter. To win a pair of tickets to the Speedzone party at Zouk KL this 20th October, all you have to do is to come up with…

A BRILLIANT MAD HAIKU.

Regular Suanie.net peps would know that I am a massive fan of MadHaiku.com. He is so brilliant that he makes me laugh everytime he bothers to update his blog :D So I thought up of this contest, and you just have to showcase your equal brilliance by coming up with a mad haiku, the theme is speed (as in acceleration, not the drug ;) ). To give you an idea, here’s mine:

Cruising in a Merz
Going over the limit
Uh oh i see cops

Isn’t that almost brilliant? :P :P :P

Okay it’s crap. I’m sure you can do better. DAZZLE MEHHHHH :D

Some stuff to keep in mind:

1) Contest ends on 17th October 2007. That’s plenty of time for you to get thinking :D
2) Contest only those 21 years old and above only!
3) Please enter a valid e-mail address if you wish to participate in the contest so I can e-mail you if you win.
4) You can write down your haiku(s) in the comment form below, or e-mail me via my contact page.
5) All entries will be judged by ME! If you win, I’ll e-mail you a.s.a.p. to inform you how you could collect the tickets.
6) If you do not wish to participate in the contest, dazzle me anyway ;)

Mwahs.

photo essay for lack of a better title

As I was sorting out my photos yesterday, I found a lot of previously unpublished photos (publishing, cewah…) so here they are in their random state.

The photo of the awesome bumper sticker below was taken (with permission) at a rest stop along the North-South highway.

Awesome bumper sticker

“NO RADIO INSIDE, ALREADY STOLEN.
NO MONEY, ALIMONY VICTIM”

Bwahahahhaha! Sure beats the sassy-wannabe bumper stickers that are let loose around the country. Too many of them suck, then you find a gem.
