the dark knight. exclusive premiere tix by nokia. win it!

If the title sounds similar to that of FA’s, it’s because I can’t think properly and it’s only Monday. So don’t care lah, she didn’t copyright it also :D

ANYWAY…

TDK - JOKER

I am going to the premiere screening of The Dark Knight on the 15th July, thanks to Nokia (M) who likes me enough to include me in their event. Rather excited because I think this one will be badass!

Very happily, Nokia (M) likes me even more to give me TWO/ DUA/ LIANG GE movie tickets for my blog readers. So either one or two of you (depends if I’m giving out the tickets per pair or not) will get the good fortune to hang out with myself, KY, Fireangel, Ringo, ShaolinTiger, eyeris, David Lian and Kimberlycun at the premiere screening of The Dark Knight on the 15 July 2008 (Tuesday, 8.45 p.m.) at the GSC Signature cinema, The Gardens, Midvalley. We probably won’t talk to you much because the invite(s) include dinner at Paradiso, The Gardens, Midvalley at 7.30 p.m. as well as a chance to win a brand new Nokia N95 8GB for those who come dressed as any characters in Batman.

And now, for ze contest…

Truth to be told, I am rather sick of the ‘why and how Suanie rocks’ contests. I *know* I am awesome; I just don’t need any more validation of my awesomeness (until further notice).

So for a chance for you to win either ONE or TWO tickets (depends on how much I like you; it’s my contest after all) to the dinner + premiere + possible Nokia N95 8GB, here’s what you have to do:

Write a haiku on Batman/ The Joker/ the Batman series/ whatever related to Batman. FYI a haiku comprises of 3 lines; 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. Jangan salah tafsir…

If your haiku is too awesome for words, you get the ticket(s). Contest deadline is 13 July 2008 (Sunday, 11.59 p.m.). E-mail me your entries, and please include your contact number. My decision is final, so please do not stop talking to me if you do not win.

project petaling street is 5 years old

I read that Aiz was looking for PPS testimonials. Maybe this is a bit too late, but as you may have noticed (besides the fact that I keep repeating it) I have less time to blog these days. Well okay, maybe if I applied myself, I could always find the time. But that would mean giving up some of my chilling out/ destressing time which includes gaming and mindless clicking on assorted photos on Hot Or Not. Half-naked, well-fit male bodies or blogging? Hmmm…

I don’t remember the first time I access Project Petaling Street (PPS). I do remember (sort of) its layout where you could ping your posts, and there were RSS feeds of a few selected bloggers on the sidebar. Back then Jeff Ooi was yet a YB (and definitely more ranty and accessible ;) ), the blogosphere was much smaller hence more intimate… well it was (and some parts, still is) loads of fun.

In 2005, Aiz and gang organised a PPS bash to celebrate PPS’ 2nd anniversary. It was held at Charlie’s Place (now closed) and it was the first time I could put many faces to the blogs. Of course there were other bloggers’ gatherings prior to the party, but they were on a smaller scale, though no less fun.

In 2005 I was 24 years old. Hence I had no qualms of putting myself out there in wacky posts (though they’d be considered tame in today’s standards) such as parading in assorted outfits to be worn to the party. Another reason I could do that was because I was not as fat and pudgy as I now am, and I could fit into all those clothes that I had. I am not even going to put up the photos here because every time I look at how I used to be, the desire to pick up the nearest knife and duly and painfully drag it across my chest is so strong that I may not be able to stop myself. So, click on the link above if you would like to see them.

The party itself was rather fun for me. Met lots of people, had an absolutely grand time. Then we kept waiting for the next party, but I suppose life happens. Now that I am older and can better understand working life, I can thoroughly appreciate the hard work of organising and managing a party of such scale on your own time. Thanks to the lot :)

As it is, I’ll always have a soft spot for PPS. Happy birthday!

fishing my way to ‘made of honour’

Because I want the JW Marriott dinner and movie pass!

Flip Flop Flippy

I know it’s not as awesome as some of you, but… bah maybe I am just not made for fishing.

Do I win? :D

suanie & ryan do the big mac chant!

“Two All-Beef Patties,
Special Sauce, Lettuce,
Cheese, Pickles, Onions
On A Sesame Seed Bun!”

Thanks to my sister, I have a perfect companion who would do fun and silly stuff with me at any time without hesitation (well, until he grows a bit older).

If you haven’t already guessed, it’s the BIG MAC CHANT and a chance (for me) to win RM10,000! Honestly this is not the best video I can do, but I’ve been rather busy with life for a while now (as evident from my blog’s sporadic updates). So I’ll just publish this video first, then within this week or so I’ll go make another one :D I already have an idea for it; just that I need to muster up some courage and… well you’ll see ;)

Speaking of McDonalds, I have to confess that I did not grow up with McDonalds. Not my fault honestly, seeing that I am from Batu Pahat and the first McDonalds branch only came to our town when I was in Form 3 or so. Even then I did not frequent the restaurant, as 15 year old kids back then did not have as much moolah to spare on outside food. Now it’s an entirely different matter — there’s a 24-hour McDonalds branch just a 5-minutes walk from where I currently stay, and we noobs go there quite often.

But now thinking back, the FIRST encounter I had with a McDonalds product was in Singapore. I was visiting and staying with my uncle who used to live there, and one time he gave me and my cousins a treat — the McDonalds Sundae Cone! I don’t remember how old I was, but I vividly remember the taste of the cold creamy milky vanilla going down my throat. Which kinda makes me want to go to the nearest McDonalds branch now…

So I better get back to work now if I want to have one of my favourite treats later. In the meantime, go check out the Big Mac Chant contest over at Nuffnang; watch the posted videos and if you feel inspired, make one of your own! The grand prize is RM 10,000 (it’s a lot of free money!) and the contest ends on the 28th May 2008. So you better start thinking of creative ideas now, and don’t cry when I win the contest with my soon-to-come awesome video :D

the nokia n82 wireless adventure ii - part 3

We reached 1U at 9 p.m., which would give us enough time to transfer and upload our photos onto the website. I think we were the first couple of teams to arrive. Quickly latched on to a laptop as our marshal, Andrea had previously informed us that there would be only 4 laptops available.

After that, it was makan time + hanging around while waiting for the results.

Then the results! Each runner-up team gets a RM500 Robinsons voucher (plus we all get to keep the N82 we used during the race) so it was all good. I was waiting for our team to be called, but it was not until Andrea got hold of me and yelled, “50-50 chance of winning!” that I began to think that we might win this thing!

Turns out, we did!

Yay!

You know the cliche used whenever people win stuff and they’d say they did not expect to win? That night I understood what it felt like. It was also a bit of a thrill (afterwards, because honestly at that point in time, I was too tired to care) because I’ve never won anything major in my life.

Thanks to everyone involved for everything ;) I had a whale of a time :) Am taking Erna with me to Hong Kong in early June, because we were supposed to go to Bali last year but we canceled at the last minute. Am giving my N95 to my sister (I still love it lots!) and she is giving her N73 to my mom.

Now, back to work!
