About The Blog
This is where I captain my reminiscing boat.
Year 1999
I made a website ‘Suan’s Corner’ and later ‘Suan Online’ (being young and terribly unimaginative) using Trellix hosted on Tripod. It was a static site with an updated a section called ‘Life’s Like That’, works somewhat like today’s blogs. As a HUGE Michael Jackson fan, I created a web shrine for him. It was very detailed with his biography, discography, lyrics, photos and what-not. Rather popular, I had teens (mostly from the USA) thanking me for the shrine.
I was very involved with my local Young Buddhist Fellowship (YBF) activities and had a large section on Buddhism, alongside my youthful rants. Think of what and how a young 20 year old would write then apply it to me.
Year 2003 – 2004
I bought the domain ‘Suanie.com’ for a year or two. ShaolinTiger decided to build me a proper blog using bBlog as a birthday present. In 2004 the domain name expired. No thanks to cyber squatters, I could not renew it using a different domain reseller. I had to get ‘Suanie.net’ instead and live with it. Moved most of my blog posts there except for a large chunk that I did not backup.
Year 2005

In Oct 2005 I switched to Wordpress, deleted a lot of my old blog posts in the process. 2005 was also when my blog first received publicity in the local mainstream media.

Year 2006 – 2007
I tweaked my blog templates a couple of times; here’s what it looked like with a background drawing done by KY.

On another heavily-customised Wordpress theme that I used for a rather long time:

Why do I blog?
It’s my cyberspace life canvas, blogging de-stresses me and makes me happy. Should I stop liking it, I’ll stop doing it.

Policy on Sponsored/Paid Blog Posts
Sometimes I accept money, trips, gadgets, pork, beer etc from business owners, PR and advertising companies who think that I’m deserving of such. In return (sometimes) I blog about their related products and/or services.
I try to mention if the blog post was a paid/ a freebie. Sometimes I don’t do that not because I want to hide it, but because I’m old and forgot to do so.
I’ve turned down more requests than I’ve accepted.
I accept stuff based on these easy guidelines:
I believe in and endorse their campaigns, I like their pork, I enjoy their gadgets, I love their cars, I absolutely LOVE their free beer, I want to share with my mother the new things and experiences, as well as you whom I know will love them too.
I only say yes to stuff that I’ve used and like and would have no qualms endorsing. I pride myself in my own code of ethics that I apply in life and on this blog.
I believe my readers are able to appreciate the distinction.
I do not do paid text links and/or link exchange. Sorry.

Policy on Comments
Look, if your comment sucks, it’s not going to be published. Sorry.
