Butter + Beans at Seventeen

Was tired of the same old eating places, wanted to try something new. Asked Joyce for ideas and she suggested Butter + Beans.

Butter + Beans are at Happy Mansion in Seksyen 17, same row where “6 To 10″ used to be. If you’re too young to know what “6 To 10″ is, well then never mind…

The cafe is hippy, small with limited seats.

It smells absolutely gorgeous – freshly baked goods and aromatic coffee, mmmm… Seems like they only do bread, pastries, pies and light sandwiches for now. And of course, many a beautiful cuppa.

We got there from Yut Kee so only shared a crusty croissant, rhubarb pie and had a coffee each.

Pie was a tad sweet for my liking. But I’ll return to try the rest of their pies. I love pies!! With coffee!!! Who doesn’t love pie??? You’re weird.

It’s the sort of place that would attract the early customers of Artisan, Antipodean etc. The modern, creative, crazy smart, artsy type. Fuad Alhabshi comes to mind.

Another highlight – Ernest Zacharevic left his mark here.
