Where I work in Shah Alam, the nicest nasi campur is a very short drive away. If I go out and eat nasi campur, well I usually don’t have to drive, heh. Whereas Chinese food is a bit inaccessible to me; meaning I’d have to go get my car and do the driving and look for parking and all that nonsense just to eat Chinese food. So most of the time, I don’t.
Recently we had a farewell lunch do for a (now ex) colleague at Sin Leong Huat in Subang Hi-Tech. If you’d worked in Shah Alam before (DiGi, Carlsberg etc) then you’d know of this place. Pretty popular, it seems. It was my first time there and so I took photos of our food. Why not, kan? Here they are with prices and all, bear in mind that there were 9 of us so they portioned the dishes accordingly.
Some notes: The shellfish was quite fresh, necessary for this style of cooking. If you like your pork knuckle skin to be very, very crispy, then their version is not for you. But I enjoyed it as the meat turned out well, moist and juicy. So I guess it’s a give a take situation, I’d rather take the version with moist and juicy meat.
I thought our food was pretty good and the prices reasonable. I enjoyed it and might bring my family (ALL THE WAY TO SUBANG HI-TECH OMG) to check out this place. They’ve a branch in another part of Subang but I don’t know how to get there so I’ll leave it at that.
