italk whoa! launch @ borneo rainforest cafe sunway

Was invited to the launch of Talk Whoa! at the Borneo Rainforest Cafe at Sunway. I don’t remember why, but I was so tired that I went home to sleep first. Hence I was a bit late to the event, heh. Luckily I managed to get there before Bunkface’s performance!

Had a bit of a problem with registration, as the girls in charge could not locate my name. Hmmm… well it was dark and the name list was tiny! I saw Jac and told her that my name was not there. She went, huh got your name it’s the first one on the list! Whoaaaa hahah it was indeed! Just wanted to mention that :P

The door gift by TM was a functional headphones + mic set. Unfortunately in the excitement of things, I forgot to take back my goodie bag. So there’s someone out there with an extra set of the headphones that should have been mine, grrr…

Saw a lot of familiar faces, some whom I’ve not seen in a while. E.g. Kenny who was in Dubai for work and only came back recently. Wingz and Tock too, I’d not seen the buggers in ages! These blogger events always seem like a get-together for old friends and acquaintances.

Some welcoming and opening speeches were made, formally introducing and launching the iTalk Whoa!. One of the more important Q&A part was when the question of when the software would be accessible via a non-IE browser. If I’m not mistaken, it’s either working already or they are looking into it very very soon.

After that the emcee had a few rounds of games. Haze participated and won something, though I’ve no idea what. Something about her being champion of picking up ice with a pair of chopsticks?

Then Bunkface took the stage, yay!

If you’d remember, there was a campaign by TM a while back, featuring a really cute ad and an infectious song. It got people wondering who sang it, turns out it was Bunkface, a local 4-piece rock band from Malaysia. I really liked the ad and the song which you can see here:

The finale of the campaign saw a huge crowd gathered at Jalan Bukit Bintang singing along to ‘Through My Window’ with Bunkface, resulting in this ad highlighting the crowd:

Anyway I had a great time watching Bunkface performing live. They were rather entertaining!

Great end to the evening :)
