goodbye tooth, hello tooth

… not technically but it sure felt like it.

A quarter of one of my molars fell out. Cracked, whatever. I don’t know why, I don’t know how. Probably bit into something hard, probably it’s my teeth’s way of telling me that I should visit a dentist. It didn’t hurt, but I decided to do something about it before the pain starts.

My dentist took a look at it and informed me that it would have to be crowned. Okay, made an appointment and all that. It was last Tuesday, I received a couple of jabs to numb my gums, she drilled my molar down to a tiny piece. Took some moulds, then placed a temporary crown which felt sandy and tasted like lime. Eww. Made an appointment for the following week because they need time to make my permanent crown.

Right cheek was swollen for a bit. Could only eat on one side of my mouth. Felt miserable. Crown fell out after 2 days, went back and got it glued back on. Fell out again, glued it back again. On Saturday, the clinic rep called to let me know that my crown was ready, would I like to get it fixed on Tuesday? Yes please!

Took the temporary crown out. The painful part was when she used a vacuum to dry the area so she could cement in the permanent crown. Wah lau… that bloody hell hurts! The pain went straight to my skull! All the BootCamp training in the world telling you that it’s only mental, it’s all in your mind couldn’t prepare me for this. Kesian me, boo fucking hoo.

The permanent crown feels nice and shiny though. I like.

Anyway I was supposed to get the tooth next to the molar fixed as well. Small hole, small matter. But my teeth was so sensitive at that point, she suggested that I save it for another day. It’s normal, she said, give it a couple of days, a patient once had to wait for 3 months before her molar stopped being so sensitive, take your time etc.

I am drugging myself with Nurofen now. In case you see me and my face is damn black, then you’d know that I ran out of Nurofen and didn’t have time to go to the pharmacy. Sekian.
