monday round-up
When I read about Sanbanto on Masak-Masak’s blog, I said to myself that I must go there and try out their food. So I did with Sotong and the pork bolognese with home-made pappardelle was most delicious!
Also found out that Sanbanto is one of my bootcampers, Rebecca’s family business. Small world!

When I received my Nokia N86, I wanted to get my Nokia Messaging to work on said new phone. Forgot my password so I tried to retrieve it from the website. If anyone who has forgotten their passwords can remember their secret answer to a secret question that is not listed on the site, please tell me how you do it.

So Gier bought himself a new shiny Peugeot 308. The driving machine is quite fantastic, I drove it to LCCT one day and the acceleration is just amazing! Hypothetically you could go up to 150kph and wouldn’t realise it. Of course I’m not saying it’s me… what, me speeding? No way! “Law Abiding Citizen” be my middle name
The car comes with pretty good trunk space.

The past weekend was the FOSS.my conference, held at APIIT. Gier had a closing keynote speech, so I went to show face and support.

Dinesh and Yoon Kit, and Gier on stage while Yoon Kit introduces him
Apparently there were a couple of arguments during Richard Stallman’s keynote speech the following day, which I did not attend because I was too busy dreaming. Colin posted videos of the ‘discussions’ between RMS and Brian Aker and Harish Pillay. Pretty interesting even if you don’t know what is going on.

After Gier’s speech, I went to a potluck party organised by Megaa, one of my fellow BootCampers. Had a heck of a time getting to her place because I am after all geographically-challenged. Had a pretty good time, lots of laughter. I’d ordered a cake from Mama Min and it turned out brilliant!
As you can see, there are two recruits (with excruciating expressions on their faces) doing sit-ups and an instructor checking on them. There are tyres, ropes, cones and a mock rifle spread out on grass. A very familiar scene! Then Sean began to reposition the figurines, I’m sure the photos will surface on Facebook later. I hope we don’t get punishment for that!
Thanks Megaa and Mark for hosting the party!

Yesterday me, Mi Lin and Faizal caught the final M.A.C.C 1st EGM show at the PJLA at Jaya One, starring Douglas Lim and Kuah Jenhan (Phoon Chi Ho had chicken pox and couldn’t perform). It was quite funny, but the reason I was laughing so much was because Mi Lin who was next to me was shrieking in laughter. I think she lost her voice

Mi Lin with Faizal, me with Douglas

Argh! I missed FOSS.my! But at least there was Yoon Kit and Twitter which kept us all pretty much up to date
I would have loved to go to FOSS.my if I’d known about it. How was it promoted? I keep my eyes wide open and I never heard a word about it.
