what just happened
I always joke with my brother-in-law that he is an Ah Beng because he’s very Cina one. How to describe someone as very Cina to you, I don’t know. Seeing is believing. He’s not that much AhBeng-nised any more but I still make fun of him now and then. If you think I’m bullying him or something, you should hear some of the stuff he said about me!!!
So today I got home from work and he very excitedly asked me, “Hey did you see me on the newspapers today?” I replied no, because I read all my news on Google Reader. As he quickly flipped through to find the correct page…
“What lah, never see my photo in the papers meh?”
“Ceh, if I didn’t see it, then it’s not very significant lah!”
“Okay ready or not? SEE!!!”
I was stunned for about 3 seconds before realising that he was laughing and pointing at The Star’s Star Two cover story of Ah Bengs.
“HAHAHA good leh?? Front page leh!! You got photo on the cover before or not??”
“Actually I have…”
Heheh.

Haha this is good stuff. Not all ah Bengs are bad. Some are good ah bengs but with bad fashion taste and malfunctioned wardrobe!
Haha, you shared the front page with 3 other fellas.
The AhBeng got it all to himself.
Hahaha

vince: actually she got the front page all to herself as well.
thanks to the feature, In future, like bloggers now, Ah Bengs will be able to go around proclaiming themselves to be ‘Ah Beng’ like it’s a proper profession, get invited to ‘Ah Beng Karnivals’ and even get money to tattoo ads on their bodies.
Your bro in law’s wardrobe is very extensive and very expensive leh.

I saw this ont he Star today as well, and the similarity between the Ah Beng fashion and that of black rappers/Latino gangsters struck me so hard…
