restoran bukit tinggi bbq
My sister and brother-in-law were rather enthusiastic about this restaurant at Bukit Tinggi. So one day we all got bundled up in my brother-in-law’s super hailat Hilux and off we went travelling to another state for dinner. Turn here, turn there, go straight… don’t ask me how to get there because I have absolutely no clue. I forgot to note down the GPS location either. Sorry

The interior of the restaurant is decorated with brollies
They ordered a few of their signature dishes. Two of them are soft tofu with egg and some sort of stewed white cabbage. I didn’t think they were extraordinary, so I deleted the photos. By the way the carrot + pineapple juice was rather refreshing = good.
Initially I was a bit sien when they ordered the green chilli. I don’t take red or green chilli if I can help it, because some things don’t need explanation. However I was urged to try one, and I did. And I liked! Not pedas at all, very nice!

I walloped a lot of the green chilli
There was also BBQ-ed lamb, which was tender, juicy and succulent. Need to eat it when it’s hot, otherwise not so sedap.
I liked the mint sauce that came with the lamb. A bit strong, but looks minty, kan?

Mint sauce! Om nom nom nom nom
Then there was seafood in a steamer.

Prawns, crabs, clams, mussels (last time my sister had the scallops, maybe they ran out)…

After a while, my sister called a waitress and nodded at the seafood in a steamer. The waitress took the thing away, and I was rather gutted because still got stuff inside mah! Then my sister said she was lazy to explain to me, and told me to wait. The waitress returned with the remaining seafood that was in the steamer, placed on a plate. About 10 or so minutes later, she came back with the steamer pot itself, and this time there was soup with sayur and mushrooms in it!

Soup with vegetables and mushrooms
Ohh… turned out that they used the wap-wap seafood yang telah distim as soup base. Smart. Tapi I tak rasa pun the supposedly sweet taste leftover from the steamed seafood. Maybe they added a tad too much ginger bits kot.
Okay lah kawan-kawan sekalian, here ends the food post. Since I have no clue as to how to get there, maybe you’ll have luck with the address and phone number below:
Restaurant Bukit Tinggi BBQ
PT 15792 & 15793, Jalan Bukit Tinggi,
28750 Bentong, Pahang.
Tel: 09-233 0330/ 012-3577111
Now I need to go home and recuperate from the disastrous KL traffic I’d experienced almost the entire day. I wasn’t driving, but it felt just as bad.

Hmmmmm foooood!
Come next time bloggers together gether go there makan
Maybe the umbrellas were all left behind by patrons, and since it’s so far away from their homes, they just thought nobody’s gonna drive up to retrieve them; might as well use them…
ky: uh i know not the way
st: mmmmm
yeehou: heh okay
someone whip out gps
suertes: i think they were signed… by celebrities, i should imagine?!
you all eat the best of things! jeles!
for those who want directions:
it’s the same highway to berjaya’s bukit tinggi resort. follow the karak highway until u reach the genting exit, right before a tunnel. enter the tunnel. after exiting a tunnel, you will see a rest area on your right with McD. drive somemore towards kuantan. you will come to a rather steep slope. after the slope you will see some kampungs on your left and right. there’s a resort called “selesa hillhomes” with a very visible sign on your left too. when you see this, keep left and you will see an exit right ahead. exit and turn right. you will come to another small tunnel under the highway. after this tunnel, you will see a BHPetrol station.
the restaurant is behind the BHPetrol station.
oh saw that on the camera, no wonder like deja vu only.
When gonna bring me go makan there wei?!?!? Look so yummy.

OMG to the Green Chili!!!
I’d be afraid to swallow it (or even bring it close to my mouth) but knowing myself, I’m bound to try it because I think it’s an experience in itself. The food looks so good!!! The inverted umbrellas at the ceiling are also very fascinating!
Your blog is a wonderful place to spend time at! Keep writing and more power!!!
For once, your food post makes me feel like throwing my packet of economy rice and go out eat something nice. Bah!
sarah: initially i thought the green chilli would be spicy. but they took out the insides, and to my surprise it was very delicious!
jason: for once? FOR ONCE?!?!?!?! HMPPPPHHHHHHHH
From what I know there are two types of green chillies: the type that turns red eventually and the type that will never turn red. The former is hot and the latter is not hot, somemore crunchy and is a preferred choice to make stuffed chillies. In Chinese they call this “Cui jiao”. Apparently they served you the latter.
