my camera is like, better than yours

I have in my hands a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ15 — 9.1 Megapixels, 10x optical zoom, 28mm wide angle… I guess that just about covers all my point and shoot needs! If I am not mistaken it retails for RM 1399.

So I stood at one spot in my boss’ office, looked out the window and took a photo.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ15 - normal
Mode: Intelligent Auto. Tarak zoom, nothing, nada, zilch

Then at the same spot, I took it again at 5x zoom.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ15 - 5x zoom
Mode: Intelligent Auto. Zoom 5x

And again at 10x zoom.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ15 - 10x zoom
Mode: Intelligent Auto. Zoom 10x

:D

You can click on the photos above for a slightly larger version. Some quality loss from photoshop, but not too drastically a lot, I’d imagine.

still looks good at 10x zoom. kudos to your steady hands or a great image stablising feature.

lumix is a good p&s/compact to have. love the wide angle capabilities

How does it handle low light shots? I too have a 3 year old Lumix and am very happy with it, but was let down with the no flash shots.

    yk

My camera is better than yours … just need to learn to use it. I like photo number one. BLINDS! :-) How creative to take a shot of blinds! :-) *runs*

Hey that’s pretty nifty for a digicam. Doesn’t work well for me though coz I have a serious case of the shakes all the time so I can’t handle a 10x zoom without tripod assistance. Excellent images Suanie!

Whoootsss… Now to find a guy showering.

Mahai these things never come through. No one showers in the open, not even if they’re far away :(

  14. Suanie, 13. August 2008, 11:40

YK: i’ll post about that soon. haven’t had a proper chance to play with it. but i think in general the low light is not that… awesome

dabs: it was either blinds in front or blinds at the back

HB: hehaeae don’t worry you are not the only one ;)

Dr Tan: i am not that voyeuristic lah

    spongefox: i thought you did!

LT: cameras that can shoot RAW don’t count

As a previous owner of two Lumixes, the picture quality is undeniably good. It’s the friggin’ battery life that I can’t stand!

Nevertheless, this is now a thing of the past for me since I’ve gotten my Sony α200 ;)

oh my fark. lumix. only for pros.

  17. ShaolinTiger, 14. August 2008, 5:38

Nice! Lumix rocks, best pns cameras - this is the new version that I bought my mom. It’s still the best travel camera around if you ask me as it’s fairly slim but packs a 10x zoom.

  18. Suanie, 14. August 2008, 13:26

azmeen: ah i’m still on my first charge! heh

tock2: i think it’s great for noobs too

ST: the fx36 is slimmer and more sexy. but cannot beat the 10x zoom!

  19. bongkersz, 14. August 2008, 16:18

Nice photos! Steady hands you have. Mine one is Canon IXUS with just 4x zoom. :(

  20. Simon Seow, 18. August 2008, 6:08

    Your camera rawks, Suan.

  21. Suanie, 22. August 2008, 14:29

    bongkersz: heahaheae thanks!

    simon: heahahe it does :P
