I talked about this article in my weekly meeting with my advisor and lab members, and emphasized the part “the japanese eat it!”. Being Japanese, they all went o_0. and the funniest thing is, my advisor asked the other (Japanese) students: do we eat this slimy thing? lol.

To be fair, China is a very difficult place to run. And quite frankly I take all western press reportage with a pinch of salt especially when its translated and abstracted. Wen and Hu have done excellent jobs in managing the earthquakes, braving after shocks to be at ground zero. This is definitely better than ANY world leader could have done since WWII.
