merry christmas, i have a gift for you!

Sigh, it seems as though we’d only just celebrated last year’s Christmas eve party yesterday. Going into a bit of rhetorics now, but once you hit 20, the years fly by before your eyes. I vaguely remember sitting at my desk in class wishing for Math lessons to be over. I was in Primary 4, and each of our lessons were 30 minutes long. These days 30 minutes feels like the RM 1 — it means shite!

But anyway, back to my public gift. I was thinking that my photo is all over the Internet (if anyone would care to look them up), why not put a big ass photo of myself wishing everyone a very, very Merry Christmas? All in the spirit of sharing, right?

So here we go…

Sexy Santarina

Aight, aight, halt the scoffs and words of abuse. True that ain’t me. I mean, are you kidding? I just whacked some char siew kai rice for lunch, then a Secret Recipe chocolate indulgence, then a tuna sandwich… and all that within 3 hours! And I have some pastries sitting in front of me silently screaming, ‘eat me eat me!’. I am never one to turn my back on plaintive wails. I shall take care of you, my little pastries, all in good time.

But don’t tell me you didn’t enjoy that photo.

Anyway, here’s my gift to you all, and I dub it the Worst Self-Made Christmas Card Ever.

Worst self-made Christmas card ever

You should be so lucky. Merry Christmas :)

medication fully loaded: aftermath

I is teh drowsy…….

If I do not wake up tomorrow, it is not my doctor’s fault for loading me with superawesome medicine. I literally asked for it.

Chances are very, very, very high that I am going to wake up tomorrow. But in the 0.0000001% possible scenario where I don’t, life has been fun, kthxbai.

p/s: Don’t cry for me. Watch this awesome video instead:

win speedzone party tix for 29th dec @ zouk kl !!

(Sorry ar, busy a bit so I am just going to copy a whole lot from the press release.)

To celebrate the World Grand Prix champions…

Partygoers have a very special event to look forward to on 29th December as SpeedZone Tour includes a new addition to their 2007 calendar – a first-ever World Grand Prix Champions Party! In a scorching double celebration of team Ferrari’s and Ducati’s monumental F1 and MotoGP wins, Malaysia’s favourite hotspot, Zouk will set ablaze as SpeedZone showcases a very, special deejay, the 24-year old wunderkind JAMES ZABIELA.

Set to close the year 2007 in style, JAMES ZABIELA will blaze the night at SpeedZone as he plays a 3-hour set of truly nuclear proportions. Joining ZABIELA will be SpeedZone’s favourite DJ, Joey G of Channel [V] fame, who will set the pace for clubbers in his own patented way, showing why he’s the best at what he does as he creates the setting for a truly monstrous main set.

About JAMES ZABIELA:

James Zabiela (press release)

A technical wizard and with a love of all things sci-fi, JAMES ZABIELA is at the forefront of new DJ/production talent smashing the glass ceiling of the global superstars. He’s played to a room full of suited Japanese businessmen when showcasing Pioneer’s latest equipment, in front of 60,000 people in South America and just about every imaginable situation in-between. And this time ZABIELA will be taking time off from his residency at Ibiza’s world famous club, Space and Pacha - New York, to make his very first stop of his Asian tour in Kuala Lumpur!

From the beginnings of winning a bedroom DJ competition to being recently awarded the ‘Best British DJ’ at the DJ Mag DJ Awards and ranked #17 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll, ZABIELA showcases a style, which is at the same time trippy, bleepy and downright groovy, with a few gnarly basslines thrown in for good measure. ZABIELA’s unique style has been recently borrowed by the likes of Jay-Z who famously integrated it into his signature sound.

So you can go pay RM40 to party with this hot young dude on 29th December (Saturday) at Zouk KL, OR you can win TWO tickets to the party from Suanie.net! Isn’t reading this blog wonderful :D ;) :D

Of course there’s a contest to go with it. But this one will be relatively easier, compared to the last Speedzone contest that I ran.

So check this out:

What is the one thing that you promised yourself to do/fulfill at the beginning of this year, but have yet to do anything about it, even until now?

For example, the one thing I promised myself to do at the beginning of this year was to lose weight. 12 months later, I am still a big fat blimp. Yay, I win two tickets to the Speedzone party!!!!!!!!

Basically, whoever’s broken resolution sounds the most miserable, wins. I have 5 pairs of tickets to dish out, so do your worst!

Who says losers cannot be winners :D (once in a while)

Rules rules rules:

1) Contest ends on 26th December 2007 (Wednesday)
2) Contest only those 21 years old and above only!
3) Please enter a valid e-mail address if you wish to participate in the contest so I can e-mail you if you win.
4) You can write down your broken resolution(s) in the comment form below, or e-mail me via my contact page.
5) All entries will be judged by ME! If you win, I’ll e-mail you a.s.a.p. to inform you how you could collect the tickets.

O la la!

it’s supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

If you have not noticed by now, a good number of my blog post titles have absolutely nothing to do with their respective content. I don’t mind. Do you?

a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down

Our office Internet line has been down for a couple hours now. Since I am the proud owner of the awesome computer-in-a-pocket that is the awesome Nokia N95, I simply connected it to my laptop and ta-dahhh!! I guess I should give thanks to Maxis 3G as well. Hmm maybe not, seeing that the small issue of over billing me is unresolved.

While on the topic of N95, David Lian told me about the app for Twitter, called Twibble. So I downloaded and installed it to my phone, and now I can update Twitter on the go using 3G :D It is teh awesome, except that my Twitter badge does not show on my blog. Don’t know why, don’t know if I am that bothered to find out why. Oh well. In any case, you can follow my tweets here: http://twitter.com/suanie . Not that I promise to update it often :D

There was an article over at Reuters Mobile Journalism about their toolkit contents, one of which is the N95. They are also using Nokia’s wireless keyboard, the SU-8W for text-based stories. I fell in love with it at first sight and had to stop myself from coming. Then I called up the Nokia store at The Curve, and found out they are selling the SU-8W for RM599. That did the trick.

My cousin from Perth was in town for a few days with her boyfriend. We met up, had lots to eat, and here’s a photo of my grandma, my cousin from Perth and my cousin from… Cheras :P Nah, he’s from Kluang, he’s working here.

Grandma and grandchildren

I’d like to say hi to my cousin’s colleague who apparently likes my blog, but thinks that some of my food recommendations are way off. LOL! As for why I always seem to have a drink in my hand, well like my cousin told you, I have a reputation to keep. It is embarrassing enough that I get tipsy after a couple of drinks these days (why, back in THOSE days I could down 4 jugs of beer without a problem… and I did and have the beer belly to show for it), so yeah my blog is the only venue where I could pretend that I am so cool, drinking and all :D

A friend of mine is looking for a shop assistant to... erm, assist at her shop @ Kuchai Lama. It is pretty much a standard shop assistant job, so you get the idea. If you know anyone or anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who would be interested, feel free to contact me for my friend's contact number.

In case you have not heard, Dabido is heading for our shores come 28th December. He will be here until mid-January, and he would very much like to meet awesome Malaysians. If you think you are an awesome Malaysian (and you sort of know who he is), well, he would like to meet you! ‘Cos he is friendly like that. I met him when I was in Perth and we had a totally awesome and fun day out.

Maybe we organise a mini gathering in early January, ya?
