it’s the thursday before new year
Someplace somewhere I read about someone who found great joy that another of another faith wished him a very Merry Christmas. True that simple things in life are most precious, but since when we have become so segregated that wishing those who celebrate their respective religious or cultural festivals become so noticeable as to warrant a serious observation? Maybe it was just my luck that I chanced upon what he wrote, but in this day and age, I am certain that there are some people who are so into this whole cultural integration thing that every tiny bit is as momentous as my birthday. Thus begins a very marked desire to emphasize upon others that they see past skin colours and backgrounds; and not just in friendship jest, mind you.
Maybe in a country such as Malaysia, such things need a lot of work. But so many of us went to national schools, and from my experience, I have doubts that being friends with those of other races and accepting the differences that come with it does not come as naturally as butter. Or maybe times have changed since I was last in a dark or sky blue pinafore.

I had some people say Selamat Hari Raya to me last week, and I’ve said Merry Xmas to people of every race and colour.
Mary Christmas! Oh wait, I’m sure I wished all my readers that already!
Better than Santa flying all over the world delivering presents is me flying over a small part of the world to deliver myself to the awesomeness of my friends in KL.
[Okay, maybe it's just me that's excited about that! lol]
My Cousin married a guy with the surname Chrismas. Which is funny as he’s father is Jewish.
[Yes, there is no 't' in the surname].
I’m super excited. Hope I don’t fall asleep before I get on the plane and miss it. lol
Happy Holidays?
This is deep…
Aiyah… I also duno what is wrong with this tiny place call Malaysia. Why is everyone so bothered about what you wish or didnt wish or say or didnt say… why is it that only certain people can be wished and certain people cannot be wished because they are from different faith… FOR GOD’S SAKE LA…… Get a grip of things!!!!! Its only a blady greetings for everything good and not meant to convert or divert or invert anything or anybody la…..
Sigh…. fedup…
Take a look at the first 2 LAT comic collections - I just did again recently and I was surprised with how much Malaysia and Malaysian Society has changed in a little over 30 years. People-to-people has always been problem free, more or less. The problem, if you want to call it that, has always come from some place else.
Erm… Merry Christmas?
