how i celebrated my 26th birthday

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the older one gets, the less one is inclined to celebrate his or her birthday with the grandeur and pomp expected of a 21st birthday celebration. Your expectations of a celebration — a party (unless you plan it yourself), gifts or even a birthday cake decrease, and should you be so lucky as to receive any of the above, ought to appreciate every teeny detail, right down to the ribbon tail.

KY, Sotong and FA kindly treated me, my mom and Ryan to a lovely breakfast of bak kut teh at Sunway. After dropping off my mom and Ryan back home, we hung out at KY’s watching Inside Man and Eli Roth’s Hostel. The former was intriguing, the latter was just funny.

Then for dinner, my sister and brother-in-law took us to Carnaval for Brazilian bbq. As it was a Saturday evening, it was rather packed and unfortunately service was left much to be desired. I think they enjoyed the food, though.

Later at night, me and le Paul met up with le David at le Starbucks. I pandai2 go tell the chick working at Starbucks that it was my birthday, and a while later she brought over a slice of cheese cake! FOC! Yeays! David also bought me latte. Double yays!!

Then there were the streams of birthday wishes via SMS, e-mails, instant messengers, Facebook etc… thanks y’all ;)

Actually, I am 21 ;)
