dadah musuh masyarakat

Note: This is by and large a self-serving post.

First things first. Just because I was one of the 5 bloggers who dressed up as pirates at the Nuffnang event, I won myself a 3D/2N trip for 2 to Singapore ( confirmation at Nuffnang’s blog ).

Yay!

Unfortunately they decided to use the most unflattering photo of me to announce me the winner.

Boo!

So here’s my favourite photos of the whole event, taken by SloppyChic.

The snails in my garden are at it again, this time the more the merrier. There’s magic in numbers. Slime me once shame on you, slime me twice get a few more to join the crowd, and all that jazz.

Escargots in the garden

Last time I noticed the snail-lovin’ activity was in December.

Me, Paul and Ryan at Roadhouse Grill last Sunday…

But I like this one better…

Took photos of the food, but decided that it was nothing to shout about. The food, not the photos.

Was talking to an Aussie chap on-line, and he was going on about Maccas. As in, “I went to Pasar Seni Maccas to get sundae.” I spent quite some time trying to figure out what the heck he was on about.

Then I belatedly remembered he was Aussie.

Kim and me at an event last Saturday…

… before we went off to get shit-faced.

What other similar slogans from the title do you remember from school? :P

monday’s apathy

It would have been a hoot to begin and end this post with a ‘I don’t care’, but unfortunately I have some stuff to say — not that I really give a shit about them.

Deanna Yusoff’s french-kissing scene. Big news over the weekend. Apparently scandalicious. WHO THE FUCK CARES?!? *Someone* sent me the video many days before it was brought to the limelight, I saw it on YouTube, it was not a very good kissing scene. She looked stiff, the guy actor looked stiff, the whole thing was very kekok and unnatural, I wouldn’t pay RM 10 to watch that in the cinema ( though I wouldn’t have to, seeing that it is all over the Internet ).

My 21-month old nephew kisses better than that. The ‘couple’ caught by a cam in the Putrajaya lift kissed better than that.

So really, who fucking cares? Not me; I am just blogging.

**********************************

John Mayer + Jessica Simpson. On, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off bla bla bla.

No one cares.

**********************************

American Idol is Jordin Sparks.

Who gives a shit?

**********************************

Anwar showing his true colours/ being the way he’s always been.

Do you care? I don’t.

Insert your own apathy here.

when i was 18

Tagged by Dabido, here goes:

I turned 18 in 1999, and here’s the list of monthly #1 on the Billboard chart that year:

Dec 5 - Jan 15: I’m Your Angel - R. Kelly & Celine Dion - I hated this song.
Jan 16 - Jan 29: Have You Ever - Brandy - I hated this song as well.
Jan 30 - Feb 7: …Baby One More Time - Britney Spears - I loved this one.
Feb 13 - Mar 12: Angel Of Mine - Monica - I loved the original better.
Mar 13 - Apr 9: Believe - Cher - Awesome!
Apr 10 - May 7: No Scrubs - TLC - Awesome!
May 8 - June 4: Livin’ La Vida Loca - Ricky Martin - Bloody awesome!
June 5 - July 16: If You Had My Love - Jennifer Lopez - Hated it.
July 17 - July 23: Bills, Bills, Bills - Destiny’s Child - Whatever.
July 24 - July 30: Wild Wild West - Will Smith ft Dru Hill & Kool Moe Dee - Whatever.
July 31 - Sept 3: Genie In A Bottle - Christina Aguilera - Hated it.
Sept 4 - Sept 17: Bailamos - Enrique Iglesias - Whatever.
Sept 18 - Oct 8: Unpretty - TLC - Awesome!
Oct 9 - Oct 22: Heartbreaker - Mariah Carey ft Jay-Z - Blah.
Oct 23 - Jan 14, ‘00: Smooth - Santana ft Rob Thomas - Bloody awesome!

And to mention some of 1999’s greatest hits:

1. All Star - Smash Mouth - When Smash Mouth exploded into the scene, I was hooked. “HEY NOW YOU’RE AN ALL-STAR, GET YOUR GAME ON, GO PLAYYYYYYY!” I loved it.

3. Mambo No. 5 - Lou Bega - Fun at that time, irritating as hell now.

23. Miami - Will Smith - Am I the only one who thinks that Will Smith should stick to acting?

26. Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! - Venga Boys - Man, you have NO idea how this song was worshiped back at home…

28. Back At One - Brian McKnight - Despite people going on about how romantic this song is bla bla bla, I hated it. It’s fucking corny as hell, even at 18.

31. Slide - Goo Goo Dolls - Loved it, loves it, will continue to love it.

32. Blue - Eiffel 65 - Refer to Venga Boys.

35. My Own Worst Enemy - Lit - Eh, one of my favs.

40. I Knew I Loved You - Savage Garden - Refer to Brian McKnight.

44. Cowboy - Kid Rock - Don’t like Kid Rock.

50. everybody’s free (To Wear Sunscreen) - Baz Luhrmann - This has GOT to be one the weirdest song evar.

57. You’ll Be In My Heart - Phil Collins- I hate Phil Collins.

58. Never There - Cake - I love Cake.

69. Jumper - Third Eye Blind - One of my favs.

I’m not feeling much love this Monday.

we be pirates, arrrrrrr!!!!!11111

Three days ago:

- Making manila card pirate hats based on a crafts book. It was like a time machine back to high school.

Fireangel making a pirate hat

- Trying to mirror my greatness onto a drawing of a skull. First attempt failed miserably. Second attempt as seen on Ryan’s pirate hat.

noob skull drawing

Thoughts on *the* night

Manila cards and sugar paper for making hats and sword: RM 5.00
Cross stitch threads for plaits: RM 6.00
Faux gold bling: RM 19.00
Large white shirt and shoes: borrowed
Pants and sash: my own
Make-up effect: sister
Bloggers who went dressed as pirates: 5
Bloggers who went dressed as any normal person would in a public place: 245

Damn it, bloggers are liars!!1111111 :P :P :P Particularly THIS blogger who waxed lyrical on MSN about dressing as a pirate bla bla bla bla bla, and ended up wearing T-shirt and jeans. Cipets :P

Well it was only weird for the first half an hour. Walking from the car park, up a few floors to the cinema in full pirate regalia really need getting used to ( not that I am going to do this for a living ). After a while, you stop feeling self-conscious even with kids pointing fingers at you, and adults who tried to stare but didn’t dare. LOL. Most of the time we just randomly laughed at the whole ridiculousness of it all. I am glad that Cineleisure is not my regular hangout :P

PIRATES! Suanie, KY and FA
KY went as a drunk jester

In all seriousness, we had lots of fun ( I did, I think FA did too ). Though I suppose it would have been better if organisation for mingling was, erm… better, and if a certain jumping jerk did not give away an important bit of the movie in a PPS ping.

PIRATES! FA, Suanie and Strawroot
FA, me and SloppyChic

Thanks Nuffnang for the tickets ;)

shiver me timbers…

A preview of tonight’s Nuffnang outing

Ryan is a pirate, arrrrrrrrrrr
