Can't tell you how Apple was using the term Personal Computer for the Apple II in the late 70's cause someone already commented. Can't comment how Edison and Bell had a disagreement over whether to say 'Ahoy' or 'Hello' over the telephone as it's been said.! Waaah! Nothing to add ... must invent something. Hmmm, wonder if Bell wanted to keep 'Ahoy' as he liked to say to Watson, 'Ahoy there, Watson. Want to come back here for some rogering, Arrrrgh!' It's a lot more pirate like I think! They employ 11,000 'co-workers' in North America, and by virtue of the large number of outlets there (30, including an online store) vs 11 in Canada and none in Mexico, it is safe to assume that most of these 11,000 are probably resident workers in the US (many of whom may, of course, be non-citizens, but let's call all of them 'Americans' anyway). While that does not look like a lot compared to 89,000 employed in Europe, I think many thousands counts as a significant number of employees. So, what this means is that a significant portion of IKEA's sales (and profits, since IKEA products are pretty standard in all markets where they exist, so margins would not likely be skewed) and workforce is American, and hence I think it is safe to call it a company which has significant operations in America, and hence just as good a target for a boycott on American goods as, say, McDonalds.
