observations

  • Remp-It was surprisingly good. I wouldn’t watch it in the cinema, but on TV, yes, which I did over the weekend. The sound dubbing was bad, lighting was bad, the whole Mat Rempit on the roads thing a bit ridiculous because there’s just no way the KL/PJ roads would be so empty and clear even at 2 in the morning, but essentially the storyline was solid and good. And that’s what’s lacking in many Malaysian movies. Cicak-Man, take note.
  • You *can* live without your mobile phone for more than 3 days.
  • Am happy the anti-toll hike demonstration went well. Made a mental note to attend, but realised it was over when I remembered at 7 p.m. Now wondering if it is going to have any effects. I doubt so, and am kinda sad that I doubt so.
  • Real live ghost experiences suck.
  • Nothing soothes your hungry tummy better than a big bowl of Koko Krunch drowning in refrigerated low fat milk.
  • Cinema Online didn’t work for me after they embedded the Digi ad (Firefox 2. Didn’t bother to check in IE, am just using the respective cinemas websites instead). Somewhere in The Star website, they have the same flash advertisement, but all links worked. Lousy ad-embedding sucks.
  • If I make a great t-shirt, would you buy it?

    ‘Real live ghost experiences suck.’

A Real LIVE Ghost experience? I thought they were already dead?

If they suck, we charge double. :-)

I’ve lived without a mobile phone for over two years. It’s wonderful not being able to get contacted … means I don’t have to be a slave to everyones whims.

My boss can’t get off his mobile … and worst of all, if he is on one phone at work, people will ring on the other phone and other swill ring on his mobile … three calls for him at once! hahahaha~! I luv not having a mobile anymore! :-)

If you make a Great T-Shirt, yes I might buy it … but, ‘Great’ will have to meet my definition of Great, not yours. [After all, I have heaps of T-Shirts that people think are lame, and friends of mine have lame T-Shirts they think are great.]

  10. Chapree Da Grande, 8. January 2007, 21:22

T-shirts? Of course I would buy it if I have leftovers money from weekly budget and also if it’s available in XL.

Btw, some road in KL/PJ quite empty around 2-3 am. Enough space to rempit the out of your heart. This coming from a motorcyclist himself ;)

  11. anttyk, 8. January 2007, 22:22

How about a ‘The Suan’ t-shirt? I’d buy it.

  12. ZeMMs, 8. January 2007, 22:36

    i think remp-it sux big time…

and the ghost stuffs? really? i thought they’re just urban mythical beings.. :P

  13. Izad, 8. January 2007, 23:35

Just make sure you make the t-shirt in XXXL size for me, okay? ;)

Ghost stuff.. you didn’t happen to watch last Saturday’s episode of Ghost Hunter did you? I can’t believe they actually had video and audio proof caught on tape for once! Awesome episode.

  18. Arifah, 9. January 2007, 10:12

    hi suanie..
i was impressed with remp-it too.. surprisingly entertaining, cool stunts, ok acting as well. i don’t think there are any other movies that are like remp-it.. i think the rempit phenomena only exist in Malaysia.. any other countries with rempit ah?

  19. Suanie, 9. January 2007, 10:59

    Matthew: superlicious!

Dabs: should have been ‘life’, but there you go :D oh the t-shirt will be great ;) just wait

Chapree Da Grande: wokies, will check the sizes :D I think some scenes from the movie showed places that are supposed to have lots of cars? Or they could be rempit-ing at the Shah Alam offices…

anttyk: you will be the only one…

zemms: yah? haha i quite enjoyed it :D the movie not the ghost :D

izad: will do ;) i am kinda terrified by ghosts actually, i think i saw that episode, but i couldn’t make out entity clearly.

deriku: oh? bangga nyer aku :P

    miao: blah :P

    mad: promise?? :D

    pinky: Msn :P

arifah: yeap i think it’s different, well ‘cos it’s different. like i said, i wouldn’t watch it in the cinema, but at home where you can leave for breaks and all, was quite ok. and from what friends told me, the portrayal of rempits was quite close to the mark

  20. stupe, 9. January 2007, 15:08

    1. remp-it are pretty good on TV. the sex scene are downright farnee…

    2. without mobile for a week also can la…

    3. not too sure what the anti toll hike demos will lead to, the toll prices sure are still the same. Suggest that the next general election, votes are casted wisely.

    4. real life ghost exp is scary. had one when i was in primary school, till this day, my friends still recall the incident i related to them.

    5. koko crunch is sold less than RM11.00 (10.59 to be exact) at Tesco for the big mama pack (normal price is RM14, Nestle staff can purchase it for RM11.50!)

    6. cinema online?

    7. t-shirt, too many from previous races over the years, somre are still in plastic.

  25. oxymoron, 11. January 2007, 10:38

rempits are a nuisance, they shud all go to jail. or be made to do community service. thats why i dont go out late at nite anymore. THEY are the real HANTUS. LIVE ones. i love not being able to be reached once in a while. so sometimes i just switch off my mobile. too bad 4 d ppl who want to reach me wehehe.
