Hmmm…I’ve got no problems with Streamyx. Then again I’m not using Streamyx. Then again as well…I dunno…when I was using Streamyx, I never had problems as well. Even if I did, it would be fixed in like a day or so. Interesting.
I think the connection problems are directly related to where you live. The more populated the area is with rich people, the less likely it’s going to cause problems.
I er… seriously have not had any problems with my Streamyx lor. have had it for past year samor… Maybe it’s because my area is a low density area…
So far, after that post I have no problem anymore with my connection. 2 days after that post too, 2 different TMnet technician called me.
But right now, I’m having problem at my another home. No disconnetion but surfing were quite bad. But I can play CS online normally! Something that I can’t do at Shah Alam due to high ping. Very very very weird. ~_~
Oh, the CEO email is indeed PR email. But it get things faster than the dreaded 1300 number.
crookband more like it. They are a bunch of crooks which took my 99 ringgit a month and giving me a 66 ringgit service until i went to confront them with it. Their technicians are no better, worse of the whole lot and most of all they take their own sweet time to repair your internet connection worst of all and they give you excuses such as your computer is too slow and so on and so forth, i hate the waiting time where i have to listen to that stupid “music” which plays after “your call is important to us, sorry all of our agents are currently engaged, you will be attended to shortly” shortly means 30-40 mins -.-

I actually made a report and they close the case when my problem is not solve. So i practically call the 1300 # 2-3 times a week, problem finally fixed after 3 long months! Slow moths

14 days without Streamyx and counting. And they told me it might be more … so I’ve made up my mind to cancel my subscription, get a refund and move to Jaring. With fewer subscribers there, maybe I’ll have more bandwidth to myself.
I’m expecting a tough fight from these guys when I go and ask for a refund, so I’ve prepared the papers to go to the Smalls Claims Tribunal too, just in case.

Two Bad bad stream stream did for all this 3 years i’ve used stream stream.
1. From the day they mention Free upgrade to 1MB till now, i still pay RM88 for 512kb speed. (sucks)
2. When your stream stream got prob, try call them and ask why, they sure tell you “No problem, the line is ok. Check your modem, or maybe you should use the streamyx modem that provided for you.” Hey, i don’t think i am the only one having this same answer from stream stream.

If u say streamyx is slow, i am very-very agree. Sometimes I cannot connect at all when comes to public holiday and weekdays
Why do all of you only stop at complaining and remain loyal subscribers to tmnet? Thing is, when someone mistreats you, don’t just think of how miserable it is for you, DO something about it. Why waste precious time looking for millions of people and type emails? You know they’re being ignored already! Here’s what you can do, you can switch over to some other ISP! You can ask millions of people to unsubscribe and switch over to some other ISPs instead, wouldn’t that make at least a difference? There are alot more ISPs out there than you think. You might think some of them are expensive, but you might get what you paid for, unlike me, the RM 88 package subscriber who most of the time only get a rate of less than 3KB/sec download Which is more expensive? You do the simple math!

hello people. i am somewhat having the similar problems. however, the streamyx service that im using is fluctuating in a way, which i am able to online and download stuff. in other words, it works like wonders where the speed it as said in the advertisement. and there comes the times that i could not be online for several days (at least two days) if i ever get disconnected, if the status was “connected”, the speed is like i’m using dial-up and worse. i’m no expert in data telecommunications but in my opinion, p2p programs are not the main culprit that puts everyone in trouble. since they promote heavily to attract more customers to use their services,i’m sure they must be able to cater to them otherwise the promotion would escalate to problems like post-purchase dissonance like what these fellows are having. customer services that i’ve been calling all these while are somewhat doing their job and most of em are sucks at doing so, no offense to people who are affiliated to tm customer service. in my experience, i’d say the technical support at kelana jaya are doing a nice job during the time i am not able to online for about a week or so. a relative of mine gave me their number and i call them up to report the problem and as usual they told me to wait for their call and they will inform about the status of my problem, which they suprisingly did called and in less than 24 hours i was back online (although they told me to wait at least 24 hours before i can online). and of course i had the experience of calling the tech support regarding this problem recently, and the technician told me to check the “cookies setting” in the “internet options” tab in I.E. that was the joke of the day for me and my housemates, since cookies had nothing to do with poor bandwidth.
either way, i think our fellow malaysians must have bigger problem in this sense than i do. i deeply understand your sufferings.

Guys, Malaysia seems to have frozen in time for the last 5 years..hardly anything including your broadband speeds have changed..the world has long since moved on from 1 mbps and down south the entry package is 4mbps. Finally the DTH provider(monopoly) station has decided to add 7 stations, yeah some day soon, perhaps the monopolistic broadband provider would decide to be generous and add a mb or two. Also Violetto, to answer your question- all ISPs in this country are routed through TM Net as it has exclusive landing rights..god know for how many years. That means unless the govt. opens up these sectors, we will always be subjected to substandard attempts at creating a world class infrastructure.
Im also pissed with the service.It’s horrible.I getting download speed lie 8kb/s for filefront.com.Filefront.com is a gaming files site which ussually gives me 50-60kb/s.If anyone gonna add me into the list of pissed of people,count me in.Im fucking pissed of now.Im gonna take a baseball bat to TM Nut HQ if this really drives me nuts.Fix it for god sakes.Not everyone uses torrents for porn,idiots.You can come and check my com.It’s porn free.Blizzard uses torrents to distribute patches and wtf are you blocking it,unless you are cosidering Blizzard as illegal buisness.

It took me about 2 months to get it up in Klang, not forgetting much pestering. This was about a year ago. And now that I have the line, sometimes it’s as bad as the dail-up I use to have, having constant disconnetion and also low bandwidth.
if u know streamyx is stupid.why the stupidest still using the streamyx????
our government is pirates. they r uncivilization native. malaysia boleh. yes. what is that. our streamyx is cheap if dont compare with other country with the speed we having. our proton is cheap if we only cheated by the government. they got no idea wat is improvement and internationaly. they only know: “now i got an engine. i sell to my son for triple the price for twenty years”. thas all.
the wold become a village now. the net is the traffic. but this garden call malaysia have a very bad traffic. so, the development of this malaysia is extremely slow. the garden called singapore and hong kong doing very well. their traffic good. that simple.
we force to use streamyx. like proton. think about it. think proton. whos fault. yes. our brainless pirates is robbing his own son. our government is robbing us. what can we do? he is our country. we love him no matter how bad he is. and yes. we are hopeless and our future is 2nd indonasia.
I think that we need to get this in the Press,on the political agenda,that it hurts Malaysia vis a vis Singapore,Thailand,HK etc.Businesses that rely on communication will overlook the lower cost base if they are unable to operate properly.
It really is in the Governments interest to get this sorted,break the monopoly if necessary(as Singapore did with SingTel)and be competitive.
To me its a no brainer,so lets badger our MP’s,local press,people with influence.
you streamyx staff are really stupid. so many customers make complaints and yet you still do nothing. the major problems with streamyx broadband line are:
@ frequent disconnection
@ speed unstable / slow down
@ blocking of BT usage
you only lucky because government giving support. if without government support, you people are all die long time ago. you people are stupid and only “makan gaji buta”. you don’t feel ashame of yourself ??

just look at example from Asia and Mas Flight. I believe one day some private sectors will definitely take over broadband service in Malaysia.You will regret of what you have done to customers by these days.

I don’t surprise if one day streamyx head quarter or Kedai TM branches burn out with fire or bombed. It is not by accident.
The customers’ anger is growing bigger and bigger everday. When one day, customers loss their patient, then Streamyx will be regreted.
Government is supporting you. And for this reason, you streamyx staff must perform even better. Don’t be proud of you own status. because at customers side, you streamyx staff are only “makan gaji buta”, “lazy” , “care nothing, do nothing”.

The abuse extends to everything – including billing. I got a “normal” reminder phone call that my bill was overdue. warm and nice, no mention of line being cut. I paid on-line within 10 minutues and received e-mail confirmation from my bank. TM did not update the system and 4 days later, they cut my line, without any notice. When I called them and gave payment details, they said it will take up to 24 hours to re-open my line.
All, always keep complaining to the Multimedia Commission. Say that TM is abusing its dominant market position. These complaints are auditable and will help other ISPs to make thier case for more licences. Don’y just blog about this. Lets try to send 1million complaints. That will help competition as the Commission will have to break the monolpoly/dominance. Believe in Change!
Hello guys…i’m working as streamyx tech support.yes!100 and select 1…it’s me answering you.currently we’re facing very2 high queue of calls…no break dude..what a job.got so many complaints lately for fixed line and of course,streamyx.yes,streamyx really sucks.so just terminate this one and get another isp…let me enjoy my free time…haha…can you imagine of non stop talking for about 4 hrs before go lunch…pheww..once again,streamyx sucks for certain…
