first post for the year 2006

HAPPY NEW YEAR, BIATCHES!!!

Truth is, I don’t see what is so happy about the new year. It’s a sad miserable reminder of lost youth and better days gone by… when that happens, how can any new year be a happy occasion?

But that is an unsolved mystery for the eternal pessimist. Since this is Suanie.net’s first post for the year 2006 AND on a new server, let’s be happy and merry and joyful and all that jazz.

So, yeah. Happy New Year to you too. Bleh.

Here are some ‘bloggable’ photos from a pre-New Year eve party we attended at the National Press Club.

NYE 2005 - Fireangel and Suanie

NYE 2005 - alcohol approved by Fireangel

NYE 2005 - MackZ, Jeff Ooi, Fireangel

NYE 2005 - Janet Lee, Midnite Lily

NYE 2005 - Sunder, Malay Male, Fireangel

NYE 2005 - Suanie, Jeff Ooi, Fireangel

It was great fun! The blogging culprits were Midnite Lily, Jeff Ooi, Paul, Mack, Tv Smith, The Malay Male, Seadevilyn, Fireangel, Janet… and the non blogger culprits were quite a few to mention including some press muscle men and a mother and son singing team!

Thanks for having us; we are available for more cam-whoring sessions!

Which brings me to my New Year’s resolution - DRINK LESS (and there’d be no more “what I don’t remember, didn’t happen”). Not that I’d been able to keep any of my past new year’s resolutions nor actually bothered to make a list, but no harm trying this year, eh? If I could maintain this resolution, I would be like, totally great and all of ye would have to worship me and kiss my hand and call me Don Suanie, the female equivalent of.

I do have a lot of thoughts zipping in and out of my mind regarding this whole new year thing. I believe it will be a year full of changes for me, and whatever happens… well… let’s see, shall we?

As for this blog, 2005 had been an incredible year for Suanie.net. I’ve made lots of friends and got to know/meet a lot of people through this blog, and it’s more fun than not. I really want to thank each and every one of you visitors, readers, commentators, quiet and ‘noisy’ stalkers, haters etc for making a notable impact on my life through this blog.

We all learnt, and shall learn again.

I wish you a very Happy New Year. Chin up, chest out and keep it real.

‘Truth is, I don’t see what is so happy about the new year. It’s a sad miserable reminder of lost youth and better days gone by… when that happens, how can any new year be a happy occasion?’

The Japanese celebrate it as ‘Forget the Year Party’, meaning that they are putting the previous year and all mistakes behind them ready for a brand new year with no mistakes and no problems where they can work like a robot and be perfect.

Okay, I added the ‘Work like a Robot’ part … but I think that’s the way most people in the world also like to view it … a better year coming up than the last, a time of renewed energy and commitments to new projects, or renewed commitment to past projects etc etc.

Anyway, Year of the Dog coming up … supposed to be another good year for me … hopefully will be for Roosters toooooo. :-)

Kimberly, I’m as surprised as you are.

Because the Malay Male has proven himself to be rather elusive (in photos). Hence, this would probably be our first glimpse of him. Oh, by the way, happy new year to you peeps too.

P/S: How’d you guys decide to meet up on New Year’s Eve at the same place?
