sleepy sunday noon
There’s something wrong with my Streamyx connection (not unlike my previous DSL light problem). I had wanted to do some serious work on a phpBB forums; was looking forward to a whole fun-filled day of reading/learning whatever I really needed to know, then my Streamyx got ass fucked for the 138349230840th time. So I headed over to my sis’ to leech her wireless.
Of course I didn’t manage to get much done. It’s hot outside; the sun is shining despite the gathering storm clouds that would cause a KL/PJ jam havoc later. Still it’s lovely.
Right now, it’s the perfect weather to be napping. I’d be doing myself an injustice if I didn’t.
p/s: It’s my daddy’s birthday today!
p/s/s: It’s Horng’s birthday today! As a mark of respect for the elderly, I decided not to refer him as ‘Horny’ for one whole week. Most likely my grand gesture will fall flat on his horny face, still there’s no harm in pretending to try

Darryl: Really? When Jaring wireless came out, I was thinking of getting it, thus sparring my eternal telekom/streamyx problem. Unfortunately it is not yet available in my area.

My streamyx was giving my uploading problem since 2 weeks ago. Imagine I can’t upload anything more than 100KB (yes, it’s KB!) for the past 2 weeks. Grr…
Fortunately, the speed came back 2 days ago. phew~
I can’t understand the problems you guys having for Streamyx. When I was back in Ipoh, it was like heaven because Streamyx was so stable. No disconnections at all. I could download OC, One Tree Hill and House M.D. in one night!
The problem with Jaring Wireless is that you need to place that SOMAport (wireless modem) in a very good position, hopefully near the window with direct line of sight with Jaring’s transmission station (which is Southside Tower and Pearl Point Hotel in Old Klang Rd, if you’re connecting from Bukit Jalil). If you can’t see the two required stations from your window, balcony, etc., you will have a tough time connecting to Jaring Wireless Broadband or you’ll experience frequent disconnections to piss you off. Oh, I heard there’s a policy on P2P (including Bittorrent) traffic with Jaring.
