my msn emoticon love/hate relationship
I am on MSN messenger a lot, I have many friends and online chat buddies there.
It’s nice to use, some of the features are cool, it’s free and I love the animated emoticons. By the way to my MSN buddies, don’t bother nudging me ‘coz I have the shaky thing disabled neh neh neh neh neh.
But if there’s one thing I hate about MSN, it’s the emoticons. Or rather the blatant misuse of something cute and funny.
Too many people are overdoing it, OVERKILL SIAL!!!
For example…
This is a mild case ok. There was once this friend and I were talking about something more serious, I had to try figure out what the heck she was trying to say with all those inappropriate smileys automatically inserted in mid-sentences.
And this is another friend ‘explaining’ to me some insurance plan:
How to read, I ask you?!? Dah lah my Math cannot make it, now have to try overlook the very distracting emoticons.
I seriously don’t understand lah. Please lah people, over killing it is teh sien. Then you wonder why I don’t like chatting with you on MSN.
Because deep down inside, I’d only be going…
when doing serious chat over msn, just go and uncheck Tools->Show Emoticons in the chat window…

can do so many things one ah, didn’t know.. always said hated msn coz not user friendly like yahoo.. in any case msn banned (so easy!!) in the office.. can only msn out of office… sien.. but ok lah, yahoo more robust, banned already it crept right in .. with the latest version some more
I hate that way of chatting… too much emoticon… make me like chatting to a small kid… damn sien! even want to buaya also no mood ledy… -.-

Got people go and replace ALPHABETS with emoticons.. so every OTHER letter they type is an emoticon letter. It’s a HUGE fad with kids these days. Apperently some older MEN do that too.

Heh, I just upgraded to 7.5 from 6.2 recently after all the nagging from my friends. I’m already regretting it… I preferred to see the “you can’t view blablabla because your version is outdated” message.
All the new ‘features’ are overboard,
It’s sorta like Friendster if you ask me… I preferred it when it was simpler. Nowadays it’s becoming more and more haphazard like mySpace.
