nic is in uk and he wants ‘tau fu pok’
And as you may know, Nic is now in Stafford for his final year in Computing at the Staffordshire University.

Nic and I were at the PPS bash earlier this June
nic: yo… there ?
suanie: yo
nic: hellppp
suanie: why, what’s up?
nic: what do u call “tau fu pok” in english
nic: i’m in UK…want to buy taufupok
nic: how la….what’s it in english
nic: die
suanie: BWAHHAHAHAHAHHA
suanie: i have NO idea mate
suanie: taufu = beancurd
suanie: tofu POK
suanie: dried beancurd?
nic: sigh… i dunno
nic: but i’ll try that tomorrow
nic: any other names u can think of ?
nic: ask Nic la..
suanie: nic is on airplane to japan now

Oh, the misery of not getting any…
suanie: why do you need taufupok?
nic: i want to cook bak kut teh

suanie: ceh… ask ur mom fedex u some
nic: expensive laaaaaaaaaaaa
suanie: then dont eat bak kut tehhhhh!!!!
nic: belacan leh ? prawn paste?
suanie: can’t u eat english food while u are in england???
nic: English food is boring. It’s all either sausage, ham, fries and egg..
nic: unlike chinese food we have taufupok which is teh pwn!
nic: english food makes you hairy
suanie: im going to blog this too bwahahaha
nic: alamak… come on…
nic: hello..it’s 1.18am here
nic: cannot think of anything else other than taufupok
nic: i wanna buy taufupok !

Obviously if he’d stayed, he’d realise that I am a much better substitute for… err whatever lah
If you are a student in the UK craving for your ‘bak kut teh’ or curry mee – which of course tastes better with a generous serving of ‘tau fu pok‘, it is also called: taupok, tau foo pok, tofu pok, tofu deep fried, deep fried bean curd… or just print out the image above and ask random strangers for their assistance lah. Done.
Feel free to assist Nic with his culinary dilemma.

Tastes like taufupok!
suan you slut!
Err…. taufu pok in English ? er……………Damn, in Malaysia we called them Bentong Tauhu as it the best……English it is called Beancurd Puff as
Damn, Suanie, you’re hot. Great in in the first pic, and just mesmerizing in the second. >:)
OKay – now I’m confused… Nic (the other Nic in your life – obviously
)
suanie got two Nics to keep her happy. one for taufu and one for… errr …. errr….
I thikn it’s dried fried beancurd
Go to chinese supermarket mah, sure can get.
belacan is called shrimp cake. (sounds innocent … but little do most foreigners realize that these ‘cakes’ smell like an unwashed cunt)
What I want to know…is how you know how that smells like?
Why doesn’t he just buy some Tofu and deep fry it himself?
Tempura it – make a batter from water, flour and egg yoke, and dip the tofu in it and then dunk it in boiling oil!
Easy peazie lemon squeazie!
Its called Tofu Puff in Europe.
aww come on, do you really need to ask ? ; )
You can’t coz the ‘Taufupok’ is lighter than deep fried tofu. Maybe take out the curd inside and just fry the skin. Prolly that would be the closest to a taufupok
Terima Kasih for the Info S-Kay!
oOoOo I shall take some more ‘mesmerising’ photos as your wedding gift
but so much trouble, right? I wonder how it’s really made… those little things we take for granted!
sometimes I’m so glad I’m female
and the other to pok? Uncle Belacan…..
and the ultimate slut is talking?
for what it’s worth..i get my tau fu pok from the korean store and it’s called deep fried beancurd.
and i get belacan from the vietnamese store…it comes in a little bottle, is all mashed up and looks absolutely nasty but take a whiff of it and damn, you /know/ you have belacan.
lol.
the right kind just to piss off the neighbors too!
it’s made by lee kum kee and is called ’shrimp sauce’
and if all else fails and you’re looking for that one ingredient that is so crucial…
hand gestures, lots of facial expression, rough drawings, what it tastes, smells, and looks like helps.
really.
even if they laugh their asses off.
Ahahahha, you’re welcome.
Me too…maybe we should have a lawatan sambil belajar trip to one of the factories producing taufoopoks =P
WAHHHH… Nic’s got reallllly looonng tongue!!!
I wander, how it is made? Can some body tell me. Is there any chemical, I hope it is safe.
