i don’t understand

I don’t understand why people who want to be taken as seriously as they claim would not attempt to look at both sides of the story and perhaps find some good light in it.

I don’t understand why people need a conspiracy to satisfy their personal belief that we are always headed for the worst.

I don’t understand why people have to be punished for being happy or lucky.

I don’t understand why our average normal lives are not enough.

I don’t understand why people think other people believe everything that is written.

I don’t understand why propagators of individualism and free speech look down on those who are trying to do the same.

Isn’t that one of the purposes, to get people to freely speak their minds?

Isn’t that one of the purposes, to guide people to think for themselves?

Isn’t that one of the purposes, to help us grow to become more mature, responsible and accountable?

Isn’t that one of the purposes, to promote awareness?

So if it’s personal, does it mean that it is meant to be taken as lightly as possible?

So if it’s personal, does it mean that we do not have opinions on things that matter to us?

So if it’s personal, does it mean that our views and thoughts are next to nothing?

So if it’s personal, does it mean that we have nothing to do with our lives and dwell only within our self-made worlds of fantasies?

At the end of the day, something I wrote strikes a chord with someone, and that is why he or she reads on.

At the end of the day, if you only know one language you are preaching to the converted. Similarly the ‘serious’ and the ‘light-hearted’ may write on the same issue, only handed out in different styles.

At the end of the day, it seems as if we were not one of ‘them’ who think the same way, we are automatically outcasts even though we have valid opinions about it.

At the end of the day, who are we trying to kid? Who are you trying to kid?

Isn’t it that you want to whore your own blog?

So if that is the case..

    Then be it.

  3. i don’t understand why i was born stupid, silly and brainless…

    OH GOD! WHY WHY WHY?

  4. “I don’t understand why propagators of individualism and free speech look down on those who are trying to do the same.”

yeah i don’t understand this too. me very fed up of people who shoot me down when i was just voicing my own opinion.

LIFE IS A MSYTERY – MANY THINGS WE DON’T UNDERSTAND!

  5. I don’t understand why there are so many stupid people around……..but I do understand why I hate them so much. hehehehe

  6. Some ppl actually believe that they are more equal than others. Ironically such ppl, who see themselves to be a Snowball of sorts, usually end up behaving like Napoleon online, while IRL they are probably more like Boxer.

Cheer up lady, don’t let the numpties get under your skin. I make you an affogato mocha – want?

  7. that’s because they are fucked up. *hugs*

  9. “Some ppl actually believe that they are more equal than others.”

    Isn’t that an oxymoron?

  10. That’s the price of freedom I guess. The fact that as long as you have the freedom of speech, you also have the preedom for people to retort to your speech.

Then again, it doesn’t really matter. Because as long as everyone practices it in the end…think about it. If they disagree…you still have the freedom to keep saying what you want to say and even they can’t stop you.

  11. If you are unsure, just ask me, I understand everything.

And not all humans are created equal, that’s the fact of the matter ;)

BTW I hate can’t stand stupid people either, or ignorant people, or fat people, hmm looks like I’m talking about Americans :X

Weii too many questions la! Pening eadi.

Anyway, at the end of the day, society or rather people are fickle. One minute you’re the ‘it’ thing next minute you’re an outcast [just look at fashion fads and handphone designs]. Times like that you’ve just to be yourself and do things because you like ‘em

  13. Bro, you have to read more. Don’t let the apparent contradiction fluster you either :P

  14. suan, it all happens when adam ate that apple and fuck eve.

  22. I don’t understand why some blogs are so addictive, and others aren’t …. despite similar content.

I also don’t understand why I crave coffee 20 minutes after I’ve just had one.

  23. ah u reminded me.. i wanna get me self a cup of coffee now.. :D

  24. The starbucks’ affogato is like the diet coke of coke; not quite the real thing. The thing is that starbucks doesn’t have a liquor license, so their affogato is missing a key ingredient – dark rum. :P

  25. i do not understand why suanie always come up with very creative ideas to blog whereby i just can’t?

i do not understand why i only can blog my dull boring life but not something general issues to discuss…

  28. “Times like that you’ve just to be yourself and do things because you like ‘em

Yeah, but after I do that, they make me pay for all the cakes in the store that I ate.
    hmmmmm, cakes!

  29. Whoa, don’t put ideas in her head.

Dunno what I’m talking about? I meant that very last suggestion of yours :P

*cabut before kena whack over the head*

  30. That way they can be a pain in their own a$$ :-)

  31. Hi, just came to your site through newspaper. As I read through, this caught my attention.

    “June 18, 2005
    a lot of nonsense”

I’m a Chinese and I’m an atheist. Don’t believe in Buddhism, Islam, Christian nor any other believe but I do believe in Karma (the cause and effect).

Regarding the rebirth, PLEASE explain to me why the population is increasing.

I don’t believe in praying for God will grant you wishes or blesses or solve any of your problem. Since that’s what a physiatrist if for.

Praying for not getting nature disaster? There’s geography.

I don’t trust the existence of heaven and hell. I think all those were just to encourage you to do more good deeds.

    SORRY for any mis-commenting.

  32. Hello fat404,

The URL for the post is here :
    http://www.suanie.net/?postid=237
but I’m going to just reply it here anyway.

    Regarding increasing of population :
I don’t know… probably souls of dodo birds and dinosaurs.

Actually one of the aspects of Buddhism I like is that it teaches you to think for yourself and not to take things at face value. In Buddhism, the human factor is very important – more so important than Buddhas or bodhisattvas or your tuah pek kong. So the basic logic of 1+1 = 2, then multiply multiply multiply… wouldn’t that explain the rise of population? Also because of lack of condoms.

The Buddha said before that there are many other worlds and universe and realms different than ours… think of them as 3rd, 4th, 5th etc dimensions.

Actually I rather like the concept of the present Heaven and Hell. *shrugs*

You also do not need a religion tagged on you to be categorised as a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ person. You don’t need to be a Buddhist or a Christian or a Muslim or a Hindu to try to do good or avoid doing evil.

  33. Metria: such are the mysteries in life
hayanna: :P just find a subject you are interested in I guess
FA: yah that’s because I told you *hugs*
tiger: give me ideas? man… you do not know half the story…

  34. Oh and I just remembered something. Even I’m an atheist, my family member are buddhist, espeacially my mom. I recall her saying that monks know when they’ll die. She has a VCD that shows a man who prepare his funerel since he knows when he’s going to die with 1000+ people attending the funeral. He died on time just like he said and according to my mom, 1000+ people there “saw” buddha come to “take” that man away. Any prove on this?

  35. No.

  36. Be true to yourself. Best damn advice I ever got.

  37. I will reply this one as well. Siddharta explained that in rebirth, it is the sankaras(mental reactions) from a departed person that get grabbed by a newly born baby. So when a baby is born, it already has these reactions inherited from a former dead guy. But is the baby a new person, or the old one? Buddha never did believe in the concept of ‘soul’. I don’t think he ever did mention that the sankaras were passed on as a on-to-one basis. Meaning one person dies and one new baby is born. If that is true, populations will never increase. I do not know what the truth is. But Buddhas come and go through the ages. Siddharta was the most famous Buddha because he put down his discourses in writing. But I don’t think two Buddhas can have exact identical views of life. Our human purpose is to take care of this life. The next life, if there is one, can take care of itself.

  38. I really don’t understand why I don’t have enough money… dammit… dammit…. dammitt…..

  39. Hey suanie! thanks for popping into my world! u would not imagine the happiness that spread all over my face when i got into my webbie and saw that there were 3 comments!!! Thanks Suanie.. :) certainly made a new blogger’s day!

    bob: yeap I guess :)

  42. wah i dont understand why ppl come to discuss buddhism with suanie man.

    ahahhaha

  43. maybe cos I’m the most un-Buddhist of all Buddhists.

Or maybe because I am a practical Buddhist, that’s why people look up to me nyah nyah nyah!

  44. MorpheusX says:
